A Day in the Life of an Abdominal Transplant Surgery PA

I've been a PA in abdominal transplant surgery for 9 years, and I'm still learning everyday! Most of my role, as an inpatient provider, is medical management of patients who have received kidney and liver transplants (as well as pancreas, bowel, and multivisceral transplants, less commonly). I am not often in the OR, but the role is very diverse, requires well-delineated interdisciplinary teamwork, and involves a lot team and patient education.
