Service Description

What this service includes: Meet with us to discuss starting out a new career in PA education! Whether you're a preceptor, adjunct faculty, or full-time, we're prepared to offer advice and resources regarding teaching, mentorship, course and curriculum design, student assessment, alignment with ARC-PA standards, and more. What you'll receive: 1) Documentation of the consultation in a logical, user-friendly format to reference the notes, tips, and advice shared in our meeting 2) A detailed action plan for next steps in your career journey 3) Evidence-based references and resources 4) A list of current job openings and/ or career opportunities in your radius of interest Why you should trust us: We've worked as PAs for a collective 24 years, and through our careers we've had practical experience as clinicians in a variety of specialties. But we both view PA education as a deeply meaningful part of our careers. We've served as preceptors to many students and as educators in a variety of classroom spaces. Through our own learning and time dedicated to the science of education, we've built curricula and led classrooms through interactive lectures, team-based learning, problem-based learning, formative and summative standardized patient encounters, objective structured clinical experiences (OSCEs), manikin simulations, procedure and skills labs, operating room training, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training, workshops (including escape rooms!), Master's theses, and more. We've been responsible for curricular overhaul of a dozen or more classes, including rewriting course requirements, course syllabi, instructional objectives, student assessment, alignment with competency standards, alignment with ARC-PA standards, and alignment with institutional policies. As educators in young programs, we also are uniquely experienced with preparing for ARC-PA accreditation visits, policy writing, scholarship creation and awards, admissions processes, and program assessment.
